CISB 113 Assignment 3

LITTLE WOMBAT DAYCARE CENTER




BACKGROUND SUMMARY
This assignment is about applying IT into the business operations, example: Child Care management, stock managements etc. We will also analyze all threats and identify how these threats is established using the Porter's five forces solutions and overcome it using our creative ideas.
We will develop a software or a web portal to ease all business operations. This is a very good way to save costs especially on handling staffs and giving tasks to them. Managing children become more systematic and efficient with the help of ICT in the business.

Differentiation - Buyers. For differentiation of the product or services must be uniqueness and outstanding so that it can sustain customer preference and loyalty.








Create a system where parents are able to book a place and select any of the daycare branches which are closest to them in the Selangor area through the daycare’s website.

Innovation develop a new product, service or find new ways of doing business.






Create a system where multiple numbers of CCTV are installed inside the kindergartens and connected to the little wombat’s main website. This allow parents to check on their children through the web while at work and review the quality of the staff.




Competitors



Cost Leadership is to provide product and services at the lowest rate in the industry
Create a system in a first come first served basis, where if parents booked earlier than 2 weeks. They are subjected to receive a discount up to 10% from the day care on that particular day

I need to know which part time staff members are available so that I can make bookings to care for the children in the casual care. I also need to keep track of the fees payment made by the parents.

This program is to facilitate managers to monitor employees working in more organized Cheras branch. As we can see in Part 1 showing a list of employees who work while in Part 2 shows the program to reserve your parents for their children cared for by the company and finally Part 3 shows the receipt of payment to be paid by the parent for the specified time.

CONS:
1. A bit difficult to use for the older staff .
 2. Problem can occur if the staff forget their user id and password , they are required to call a the IT service to reset their password.

This is sequent of program that is solution of Child Care Giver (Mrs Doubtfire):” Are any of the children under my care allergic to anything? Who is not well today and is there any medication I need to administer”.
Mrs Doubtfire can see through this program if she want to know if the children under their care have allergic to something or their illness and what time she have to aware for the children medicine.
This program is being related through class so Mrs Doubtfire can arrange their staff to take care of the children during their teaching.

CONS:
1.This program is integrated with internet
2.To use alarm from this program user must always connected with internet.







Parents (Mr & Mrs Smith)
Mr & Mrs Smith quoted : “I want my children to get the best care and education; I wish to be able to ensure their safety at all times. I need to know what my children’s daily activities are at the center”



The solution is to build a system where all the entire facilities are equipped with CCTVS and is connected though the Little Wombats website. With this new system, parents are able to check on their children on real time through the internet. This allows parents to check on the safety of their children and the quality of the daycare staff. Parents are also able to check on the past video feed.


CONS:
Any neglecting on the children from the staff can affect the reputation of the daycare badly.


Operations Manager for Branch Serdang (Ahmad Idris)

Cons
1)         stocks data of the actual items and on the portal may not synchronized so inaccurate data might occurs. Need to be updated on portal every time the items is used.
2)         If the data is not updated on the portal, we might have problem to call staffs who are present. The data of staff need to be updated in realtime.
3)        All children attendance and pickup time are recorded using a time ticker on the gate of the classroom. If the guardian did not tap the time ticker device, the time will not update on the portal.

In conclusion, we can allow the use of the Information System and IT to ease all business operations and managements  and create more innovati
